Assistant Dean and Director of Field Education, Associate Clinical Professor, and TIDR member Daniel J. Fisher will be retiring from his position at the UM School of Social Work at the end of December. Assistant Dean Fischer led the Office of Field Education through challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic, adjusting and adapting as needed to ensure students had valuable field education experiences and that community members in need were being served. He has been instrumental in advancing and evaluating inter-professional education efforts, as well as other innovative training and education experiences for social work students. Assistant Dean Fischer has deep clinical expertise and experience that has been vital to informing research, teaching, and service in both the School of Social Work and the Department of Psychiatry. We wish Assistant Dean Fischer the best as he transitions to retired life!
