Dr. Jaclynn Hawkins, Assistant Professor at University of Michigan School of Social Work, has established the Diabetes in Men’s Health Lab (DIMH Lab) to support her multiple projects. Dr. Hawkins has received funding from Michigan Institute for Clinical Health Research(MICHR) and Calude D. Pepper Older Americans Independence Center. Dr. Hawkins MICHR Project is focused on evaluating the impact of the Men’s Health Event in Metro Detroit on “health behaviors and to assess health behaviors and outcomes in relation to COVID-19 pandemic.” In addition, Dr. Hawkins received funding from the Pepper Center to “adapt and validate a peer leader intervention targeting diabetes related lifestyle and self-management behaviors” for individuals with Type 2 Diabetes.
